Terms and Conditions
These terms and conditions (“Terms”) govern the provision of roofing services by Jim’s Roofing (“the Company”) to its customers. By accepting our quotation and engaging Jim’s Roofing for roofing services, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms:
All our quotations are valid for 30 days and are subject to the following conditions. Acceptance of our quotation also involves acceptance of these conditions.
1. Responsibility for Payment
All quotations provided by Jim’s Roofing are NETT prices for cash payment. Upon acceptance of this quotation or when specialized sub-contracted labour or materials are necessary, a refundable deposit of up to 10% of the contract price may be required. The owner assumes responsibility for payment once instructions have been given by the owner or their agent to Jim’s Roofing or its agent/s, either by phone, fax, email, or in person, to proceed with the work, regardless of whether the original quotation has been signed or not. In case Jim’s Roofing or its agent/s orders special items to fulfill this contract and the customer cancels the contract, the customer remains liable for the retail price of the goods over and above the deposit held, if any. Materials will be handed over to the customer upon completion of work and receipt of invoices upon payment of the balance. Failure to comply with payment terms will void the warranty and incur a 10% surcharge. All materials remain the property of Jim’s Roofing until final payment has been made.
(a) Progress payments may be required of 30% instalments or whatever is agreed with the Franchisee.
(b) Jim’s Roofing must be paid upon completion of the work or when costs have been incurred.
(c) Failure to make final payment under this contract on time will incur a late payment fee of 25% of the contract price.
2. Electricity and Water Supply
The owner shall provide adequate access to water, electricity, toilet, and washing facilities at all times during construction. If electricity and water are not supplied, any additional costs incurred, including generator hire, cartage, loss of time, or additional labour, shall be charged to the owner.
3. Site
(a) This quotation for Handyman work is, unless otherwise shown herein, based on construction on clear unobstructed areas.
(b) The owner shall clear all obstructions and provide a clear working area and access unless otherwise provided in this quotation. If the owner fails to remove obstructions, then the costs to remove, including equipment and labour costs at our normal hourly rate, shall be payable by the owner.
(c) The owner shall be responsible for locating and notifying Jim’s Roofing in writing before construction of the position of all underground obstructions, including electrical and telephone cables, gas, water, stormwater, and sewerage pipes, and any other service facility that is or may be affected by the construction. The owner shall indemnify Jim’s Roofing and its agents against any claims or demands made by any person or authority in respect of any damage.
(d) The owner shall remove or protect any plants, ornaments, pipes, furniture, pets/animals, etc., that may be damaged, as well as all rubbish. Jim’s Roofing shall exercise all care but accept no responsibility. Any costs incurred in the removal of furniture, appliances, rubbish, including additional labour, shall be payable by the owner.
(e) No allowance has been made for the replacement of rotten wood or faulty previous workmanship found during the fulfillment of this quotation. Any costs incurred in the replacement of rotten work or the rectification of previous faulty workmanship, including additional labour, shall be payable by the owner.
4. Permits
Unless otherwise provided for in the quotation, the owner shall obtain any necessary permits and supply a copy of the permit and conditions upon acceptance of the quotation to Jim’s Roofing. If meeting the conditions incurs any extra costs, these will be charged to the owner.
5. Warranty
Jim’s Roofing provides a warranty for its roofing services and materials. The terms and duration of the warranty will be detailed in the written agreement or contract. Warranty claims are subject to the conditions and limitations specified in the warranty policy.
5.1 Warranty certificates

6. Site Cleanup
Jim’s Roofing shall be responsible for cleaning up the work area and removing all debris, including cuts, cement bags, and packaging left by Jim’s Roofing only. Jim’s Roofing shall not be responsible for the disposal of any rubbish. Jim’s Roofing will not be responsible for the cleaning up where other contractors worked. Should skip bins be required, the cost for rental thereof shall be for the client’s account.
7. Materials
If any materials for the works as quoted are supplied by the customer, then the following obligations will apply to the customer:
(a) The customer assumes full responsibility and liability for ordering the correct materials and must ensure they arrive on time.
(b) Any time lost to Jim’s Roofing due to incorrect ordering, faulty materials, or late arrival will be charged at our normal hourly rate.
(c) Jim’s Roofing makes no warranty on materials ordered or supplied by the customer.
8. Variations
If a variation is requested, Jim’s Roofing will provide a written quote detailing the works required. The works will commence only after the signed quote is returned to Jim’s Roofing.
Your Guarantee
Additional to any statutory requirements, all works performed under this contract are guaranteed by Jim’s Roofing for a period of 90 days against defects in quality of workmanship. Claims must be lodged in writing within 7 days of first appearing to Jim’s Roofing. Jim’s Roofing reserves the right to repair and make good any materials and labour required to fulfill this guarantee.
Arbitration Clause
In the event of any dispute arising between the parties in performance of this agreement, they shall not proceed in court or law but shall proceed by way of arbitration and shall be bound by the decision of the arbitrator.
